Job Description



SUMMARY

Responsible for the development and documentation of electrical designs in a cross-functional engineering team environment. Provides support to other departments including manufacturing, sales, customer service, and quality. Products include: high-performance electro-mechanical systems and components, integrated structures, and control panels used for aircraft entertainment, navigation, and communication systems.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Create designs by analyzing product or equipment specifications, performance requirements, and existing manufacturing capabilities. Performs basic design and evaluation of products by applying fundamental engineering principals.
* Analyze and/or test new designs, methods, materials or processes and completes required documentation by applying basic engineering principles and in accordance with applicable company or customer standards.
* Prepare test plans, procedures, and reports. Compile and analyze data in support of establishing performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or products
* Investigate design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and product cost.
* Prepare detailed drawings, assembly drawings, and wire diagrams.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field of study with zero to four years of experience typical. Significant industry experience in lieu of Bachelor of Science degree will be considered.



LANGUAGE SKILLS



The employee must have a working comprehension of the English language complimented with workplace levels of grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills




JOB SKILLS



Knowledge about the operation and design of aircraft Mechanical and avionics systems is a plus.



Familiarity with regulatory certification requirements for aircraft Mechanical and avionics systems is a plus.



Strong MS Office skills: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel.



Skills in the use of 2D and/or 3D design software a plus.



Optimally utilizes all channels of communications.
