Job Description


Utilize extensive knowledge of industry standard cable assembly design and manufacturing practices to develop and maintain cable assembly designs in accordance with CIT requirements and customer specifications.


* Interpret customer requirements, specifications and workmanship standards to develop cable assembly designs when requested by customers
* Responsible for creating 2D drawings including cable assembly layouts, schematics and/or wiring diagrams and Bill of Materials
* Select appropriate components (interconnects and wire) based on customer interface, specifications, and regulatory requirements
* Will be required to design cable assemblies from information from customer's 3D CAD models
* Fully understand CIT's production capabilities and data requirements. Able to communicate professionally with customer personnel
* Act as external liaison working at customer's site. Coordinate customer technical activities with internal CIT sales personnel and Manufacturing & Product engineers
* Process Engineering Change Documents and drawing updates when necessary to provide resolutions to customer design changes, drawing corrections and enhancements
* Coordinate with CIT Product Engineering personnel to ensure technical assessment is completed for each design project that CIT is manufacturing
* Provide support to CIT production engineers and process engineers for cable assembly designs in production
* Provide customer technical contacts with onsite technical support involving industry standards, military specifications, design assistance, CIT production capabilities and material requirements

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aerospace cable assembly design environment required
* Proficient with AutoCAD, CATIA, Solid WORKS and/or Pro E
* Must be extremely proficient in MS Excel
* Experience with Electrical Design of Commercial Aerospace Wiring Harness Design
* Must have extensive knowledge of commercial aerospace regulatory requirements and general design requirements for aircraft wiring
* Must have thorough understanding of components, processes, equipment, standards and terminology used in Aerospace cable assembly design
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, including customers is a must
* Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment.
Ability to multi-task; work on multiple projects
* Excellent personal computing skills, particularly Microsoft Office
* Thorough ability to read and interpret requirements documentation from a wide variety of customers
* Ability and willingness to travel by air and auto throughout the USA and worldwide via Air (possess a Valid passport)
* Manual dexterity used occasionally with repetitive finger motion

* Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, the ability to identify colors, and ability to adjust focus


* High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

* B.S. Electrical Engineering, B.S. Mechanical Engineering, B.S. Manufacturing Engineering, B.S. Industrial Engineering, or equivalent and/or 5-10 years experience in a similar position.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aerospace cable assembly design environment required.


* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
