Job Description

Under close supervision, performs a variety of cable assembly operations to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner

• Build simple to complex fiber optic cables using standard work documents to a high level of quality and efficiency
• Identify wires with use of basic color code sequence
• Complete all necessary paperwork relating to the building of cable assemblies demonstrating a high level of creativity. Continuously looks for ways to improve and increase quality and efficiency
• Complete the assembly of fiber optic components by means of acceptable processing
• Utilize hand tools and automated machines and components in conjunction with customer drawings, parts list, bill of materials, wire diagrams, schematics, tables and work instructions
• Lean manufacturing knowledge
• Utilize lean manufacturing knowledge to mentor other assemblers as needed
• Able to read customer specification sheets to build cables
• Set up and use basic hand tools and machines
• Participate in first production runs of new products
• Responsible for tool inventory
• Responsible for clean-up and bench organization
• Responsible for work area clean up and work bench organization to 5s standards
• Demonstrate knowledge required by Assembler II training

• You must prove proficiency with an 80% and above average score and maintain active status in the below Carlisle IT Technical training courses:

• Carlisle New Hire training
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS Certification (All modules)
• Understanding of and experience in lean manufacturing environment
• Adaptable and flexible to work additional hours, including weekends on short notice to complete orders, make a schedule change or work on special projects to meet customer demands
• Able and willing to work overtime is required. Some positions require working a 10 or 12-hour schedule as an essential duty. Work schedule variations due to business requirements are common and should be expected, however, regular 8 hour schedules are typically set as follows

• Day Shift 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• Shift 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM


• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 6 months as EAI or equivalent

Must maintain industry certifications as applicable to position and value stream that is supported. Including but not limited to; IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-JSTD-001, IPC-610, IPC-600 and NASA 8739

• IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS Certification (All modules)


• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Able to read English language technical documents, including customer blue prints, wiring diagrams and schematics, manufacturing instructions and training manuals
