Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:                     

Primarily responsible for managing the overall business product strategy including strategy development and implementation, construction and maintenance of the certification portfolio, management of field service a contractor training, and project pipeline prioritization for spray foam business. Drive a cadence to accountability and speed to satisfy both internal and external customer needs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:   

Product Portfolio

  • Business strategy development.
  • Develop and maintain multi-brand strategy.
  • Product Consolidation/Rationalization.
  • Competitive product benchmarking and analysis.
  • Identify and exploit customer and market gaps and needs.
  • Identify and maintain necessary product certifications and performance criteria.
  • Understand market trends and needs and proactively adjust business strategy
  • Manage relationships with toll manufacturing partners.

Field Service

  • Maintain world class customer training program across various brands
  • Establish best in class customer concern resolution and product troubleshooting work process.
  • Foster the interaction between Field Service and R&D teams
  • Drive timely completion and documentation of customer issues.

R&D Project Pipeline      

  • Provide project planning, assignment, monitoring and follow-up.
  • Track project progression for timely completion.
  • Active involvement in product development strategy and processes.

    • Effectively interact with other departments & organizations (e.g. QA, Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Product Management, Marketing, Customers and Suppliers).
    • Manage customer relationships and conduct RFP review, product testing, and customer visits.
    • Actively seek and drive product and process improvement.
    • Responsible for assisting the Director in hiring and development of R&D personnel.
    • Possess knowledge and thorough understanding of the manufacturing process.
    • Possess a thorough understanding of customer expectations with regard to products.
    • Identify and implement new and improved technologies as used by competitors, suppliers, customers, etc.

  • Improve quality of product and processes.
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry/Chem.Eng/or related field
    • Minimum 12 years relevant experience in product development.
    • Minimum 5 years management experience of 2 or more employees.
    • Minimum 3 years experience managing technical employees and virtual teams.
    • Minimum 5 years  progressive experience within the Spray Foam PU industry with extensive knowledge of polyurethane chemistry.
    • Ability to travel domestic U.S, and internationally minimum 30%.
    • Accepting a minimum salary of (insert the prevailing wage)

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    • Demonstrated  progressive experience  effectively managing and growing a diverse variety of customer relationships and industry-specific technologies.
    • Demonstrated  progressive experience in project management, monitoring, follow-up and closure.
    • Practical laboratory skills.
    • Advanced computer literacy.
    • General understanding of PU processing and formulating.
    • Good communication skills are essential. Must be capable of resolving conflict and providing constructive criticism.
    • Problem-solving skills combined with analytical skills and good attention to detail.
    • Project management skills and good organizational skills.
    • Enthusiasm and self-motivation to function independently, as well as with a team.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Advanced interpersonal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated sound work ethic

     

    REQUIRED PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:

      • Understand and interpret data while drawing logical conclusions based on available inputs.
      • Critical thinking skills in standardized situations as well as non-routine problems.
      • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize work accordingly.
      • Basic reasoning skills and carries out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.

    SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

      • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
      • Fully support and implement internal safety programs with direct reports
      • Understand occupation and safety concerns associated with spray polyurethane products
      • Develop company strategy and stance on industry concerns such as spray foam emission testing and re-entry.
      • Champion both internal and external safety use of spray foam products.
