Job Description


SUMMARY
The Director of Sales is responsible for Global Sales of all Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT) products within the Medical Market, and for developing the strategic sales direction of products to our customers.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Work with VPs, Operations Directors, and other Management to continually develop the strategic sales process model for Carlisle Interconnect Technologies Medical Market.
* Creates strong relationships with key customers at both senior and mid-management levels.
* Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing market trends, economic indicators, and competitors. Maximizes GM% to meet EBITDA objectives.
* Tracks and manages the progress against the Corporate Plan, and promptly develops countermeasures to ensure team performance that is in line with or exceeds the Corporate Plan.
* Manage the Sales Team; set goals that are in line with the Corporate Plan, manage the progress against these goals, and review using appropriate performance management tools.
* Identify key programs within the specified region and continue to develop the teams' capabilities and penetration efforts at selected key OEMs.
* Continue the development of CRM tool to ensure full tracking capability of the team's opportunity funnel.
* Manage and lead business forecasting on a monthly basis to provide operations capacity data and annual budget plans.
* Ensure sales team sells long-term solutions to major programs at Tier I strategic accounts.
* Works collaboratively across functions to drive the continuous improvement and lean culture of the "Carlisle Operating System" for the benefit of customers.
* Achieve sales in line with CIT strategic plan for interconnect sales growth.
* Monitor and maximize GP% in line with strategic plan to achieve targeted EBITDA.
* Generate new accounts as defined by strategic goals.
* Manage all key account relationships alongside Sales Managers.
* Negotiates agreements for manufacturing and supply contracts with customers.
* Attends trade shows and hosts customer events that help align CIT better with customers.
* Maintains up to date knowledge of the industry and identifies trends.
* Manager and administer sales compensation programs.
* Work with CMT VP/GM and Medical Leadership Team to develop CIT's long-term medical market growth strategy (Policy Deployment Strategic Plan).
* Work cross-functionally to communicate and resolve key account issues to ensure customer satisfaction; escalate to management when appropriate.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

* Coaches, leads and develops direct reports.
* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
* Performs all duties inherent in the role of Director including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Ability to coach, mentor and grow his/her team to take on the expanding needs of the company.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

TRAVEL
Domestic and International travel 50 to 75% as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related degree.

* Minimum of 10 years professional Medical Sales management experience.
* Minimum 5 years direct sales management experience within the Global Interconnect market.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

JOB SKILLS

* Strong technical knowledge of interconnect products, including wire and cable, connectors and interconnect assembly services preferred.
* Manages use of a CRM tool to ensure full tracking capability of the team's opportunity funnel.
* Proven knowledge of financial metrics and reports; understand relationships of margins, inventory turns, costs, and sales forecasting.
* Proven ability to develop strategic program-based sales team.
* Experience with International business culture and markets.
* Proven sales success as hands-on strategic sales person and manager.
* Dynamic leader of sales managers who has managed a team within a changing environment.
* Build and maintain opportunity funnel in key account base.
* Leader of team and cross functional projects.
* Able to work in a matrix environment.
* Budget management and understanding of P&L.
* Clear understanding of new customer acquisitions and market development.
* Team player and coach.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be self-motivated with a results-orientated and driven personality.
* Confidentiality required: Information routinely handled will be proprietary and highly confidential to the corporation and to customers.
* Displays effective leadership as defined by the CarlisleIT Model Manager guidelines.
* Merger and Acquisition transaction execution, including strategy, due diligence, definitive documentation and integration.
* Create and delivers presentations to internal stakeholders and external customers as needed.
* Key contributor to creation and execution of company annual strategy plan.
* Regularly interacts with executives and major customers.
