Job Description



SUMMARY
Performs design engineering assignments under direction of senior engineer(s), to assist with the design and develop new contact components or redesign existing components to improve company products


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Assist Engineering department in the design of contacts that conform to customer and military requirements.
* Ability to perform engineering tasks on computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment.
* Ability to assist in preparing response to RFQ request with as needed support from senior engineers.
* Support Quality and Marketing departments as necessary in resolving non-conformance issues.
* Ability to work with CAD designers and drafters regarding design, function and testing of Tri-Star products.
* Ability to determine and establish specifications through engineering calculations and layouts.
* Ability to prepare analysis as required.

Physical Demands:

* This position is primarily a sedentary office position working in a controlled, quiet office environment. While performing duties of this position, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, and/or bend
* This position uses a computer terminal to access, input, and retrieve data.
* This position may be subject to interruptions that may cause a change in immediate priorities and/or work focus.
* May occasionally lift and/or move up files or boxes up to 30 pounds.
* May be subjected to occasional irregular or extended work hours.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Must communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to employees at all levels and with outside vendors and customers.
* Must be able to read, write, analyze, and interpret reports, procedures, and/or regulations, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.


Reasoning Ability:

* Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
* Must be able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems, deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Additional Skills and Experience preferred (Not Required):

* Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and perform a number of tasks within schedules.
* Computer skills for position: MS Office, database, spreadsheet, 3D graphics


JOB SKILLS

* BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Working knowledge of computer aided design applications: AUTOCAD/Inventor Drafting.
* Self-motivated team player able to work independently
