Job Description


The Manager, COS (Carlisle Operating System) position will bring specialized skills and knowledge to assist Carlisle FoodService Products in our manufacturing plants environment in our drive to constantly enhance our processes and capabilities in a lean manufacturing environment. This position will report to the Plant Manager of our Santa Fe plant and will support both Santa Fe and Lincoln plant manufacturing lean efforts.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

• Responsible for working with Managers in identifying activities, values, selecting Kaizen events and ensuring proper resourcing and preparation for those events.
• Responsible for linking lean activities to the business objectives while developing a site transformation plan in collaboration with the site management team.
• Responsible for facilitating, leading and assisting in Kaizen events, having the ability to proactively implement positive change on the shop floor and office environments through leading by example and implementing results. Responsible for the pre-event preparation, Kaizen event execution, post event follow up and Kaizen event sustainment with plant management.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining detailed process maps, metrics, and control plans for the key business and transactional processes.
• Responsible for managing a Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO) to perform pre-event training, prepare the plant/office area for events, develop and implement a communication plan, conduct post event follow-up and auditing of results, assure prompt delivery of required supplies and materials, and mentor KPO team members.
• Responsible for building and maintaining the foundation for continuous improvement by ensuring the effective functioning of transformation activities aligned to a Lean Operating System.
• Responsible for and must have the ability to train Lean tools to all levels of the organization (Kaizen, 5S, Fish Bone, Set-up reduction, Standard Work, Impact / Difficulty Analysis, Visual Management, SQDC boards, MDI, etc.) while working side by side with all levels of manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, logistics, and other office and administrative groups.
• Responsible for and must possess the ability to implement the businesses plan and vision for future state improvements.
• Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
• Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and Supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.


• Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Engineering, Business Management, or Operations Management from four-year college or university;
• or 7 or more years in plant leadership, 3 or more years' experience managing a business process, and 2 or more years' experience managing a quality team in a manufacturing environment or related experience and/or training;
• or equivalent combination of education and experience.
