Job Description



The Commercial Business Analyst is responsible for the analysis and reporting of sales and margin related data with the goal of increasing overall sales productivity and effectiveness. This will be done through the development and tracking of key performance indicators across the department. This position will work closely with sales leadership and provide in depth data analysis to improve decision making and more quickly react to changes in the market.

Primary Responsibilities:


• Assist sales leadership in the development of the annual plan, sales forecasts, and expense budgets
• Generate customer performance reporting to better track and understand growth, erosion, churn, and profitability
• Participate in the development of countermeasures where applicable including reengineering business processes
• Develop business case analysis for promotional or channel programs, measure actual performance vs. forecast model
• Manage the integrity of the sales opportunity portfolio and provide analytics around pipeline vitality
• Develop and communicate sales incentive compensation reports for the sales team to improve visibility and drive performance
• Analyze distribution agreements and discount structures to develop continuous improvement actions
• Assist finance team in month end reporting and accruals
• Manage channel, customer, territory definitions and integrity within the system


• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
• Prior experience in Sales and Finance related roles
• Functional understanding of databases, Cognos preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Advanced presentation skills, communicating to executive audience
