Job Description



Under general supervision, the Coax Assembler III performs simple, complex and specialized assembly operations to build high-quality cables and wire harnesses, and products for the aerospace industry.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Builds simple, complex and specialized coax assemblies.
* Assists in the training and development of other assemblers as needed
* Completes paperwork clearly and accurately relating to the building of cable assemblies
* Assists with first article and/or NPI assemblies as needed
* Demonstrates a high level of creativity; continuously looks for ways to increase quality and efficiency
* Provides back-up for leads or supervisors as needed
* Interfaces with engineers as required
* Consistently demonstrates a sound knowledge required by Coax Assembler III Training
* Makes sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materials
* Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* High school diploma or equivalent
* 3 plus years of cable assembly experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Must have a working comprehension of the English language complimented with workplace levels of grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills





JOB SKILLS

* Satisfy all Coax Assembler Level III requirements after the required time period
* Satisfy Personnel Proficiency Requirements after the required time period
* Established understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment
* Ability to efficiently and effectively work with minimal supervision
* Ability to build cables and wire harnesses using manufacturing instructions, while meeting all workmanship standards
* Writing skills required to complete documents and forms
* Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
* Ability to adapt to schedule changes with a positive attitude. Ability and willingness to work overtime when requested are required. Some positions require 10 or 12 hour schedules as an essential duty.
