SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Coax Assembler II is responsible for performing simple to advanced operations in cable assemblies, wire harnesses and integrated products for the aerospace industry.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Builds simple to advanced cable assemblies, wire harnesses and integrated rack assemblies
* Assists in the training and development of other assemblers as needed
* Completes paperwork clearly and accurately relating to the building of product
* Assists with first article and/or NPI assemblies as needed
* Demonstrates a high level of creativity; continuously looks for ways to increase quality and efficiency
* Provides back-up for leads or supervisors as needed
* Interfaces with engineers as required
* Consistently demonstrates a sound knowledge required by Coax Assembler II Training
* Makes sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materials
* Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* High school diploma or equivalent
* 1 year related experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Must have a working comprehension of the English language complimented with workplace levels of grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills

JOB SKILLS

* Satisfy all Coax Assembler Level II requirements after the required time period.
* Satisfy Personnel Proficiency Requirements after the required time period
* Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment
* Ability to build cables and wire harnesses using manufacturing instructions, while meeting all workmanship standards
* Writing skills required to complete documents and forms
* Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
* Ability to adapt to schedule changes with a positive attitude. Ability and willingness to work overtime when requested are required. Some positions require 10 or 12 hour schedules as an essential duty.
* IPC Wire and Cable Fundamentals, Crimping Fundamentals, Basic Soldering, IPC/WHMA-A-620B Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harnesses
