Job Summary:

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has an immediate opening for a Benefits Specialist, in its Carlisle, PA location.  The Benefit Specialist is responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Educates employees on benefit provisions, including but not limited to the most cost-effective way to utilize the program and underutilized benefit provisions. Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assists employees regarding complex benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Manages leave of absence process, including approvals related to leave requests, assisting employees and managers with questions, and interfacing with vendors
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
  • Leads Open Enrollment process, including material preparation, distribution, education and communication, and enrollment period.
  • Administers the tuition reimbursement program.
  • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • An Associate’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.  A combination of experience and relevant professional certifications may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
  • 5+ years of benefit experience required, with a minimum of 3 years of this experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required
  • Microsoft Office Suite knowledge is also essential
