Job Description

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has immediate openings for a Shipping Lead at its Coatings & Waterproofing Division located in Terrell, TX location. This position is responsible for day-to-day shipping functions including traditional pick, pack, and shipping duties in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  This position is responsible for shipping related paperwork and entering data into SAP and the warehouse data system.  The Shipping Lead will confirm orders prior to shipment and serve as a backup to the shipping supervisor.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Run delivery orders and print pick sheets
  • Safely operate a forklift to process orders including accurately picking orders, wrapping pallets, staging, and loading orders for shipment
  • Use electronic checklists and RF scanners
  • Prepare daily shipment paperwork (i.e. BOL, Packing Slips)
  • Prepare and ship small parcels
  • Inventory all non-stock items in shipping
  • Perform daily forklift inspections and adhere to all safety regulations
  • Back up Shipping Supervisor
  • Maintain good housekeeping and workplace organization (5S/Lean Manufacturing)
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience operating a  stand up and sit-down forklift required; certification preferred
  • 5 years of related distribution warehouse experience preferred
  • Understanding basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills
  • Basic computer experience required

Work Environment:

This position is in a warehouse-type facility subject to ambient and outside temperatures; exposure to loud machinery, dust, and mechanical parts.  Work surfaces are primarily concrete and operators will stand while performing their respective job functions.    This position typically works 10 hour shifts, with some weekend work required. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally
  • Repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping, pushing, and pulling
  • This position requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, seeing, hearing, reaching above shoulders, bending, and twisting
