Job Description

SUMMARY

Cuts, Preps, Terminates, routes and ties wires to form wire harness (cable) used in electrical and electronic equipment or systems by performing the following duties. This position will be located at our Mobile, AL location.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Reads instructions such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly
* Selects, cuts and marks wires of specified color, marking, or length
* Installs terminals and contacts to ends of wires, inserts or installs into components, plugs, or terminal strip
* Wraps and ties wires together at designated points to form harness
* Installs heat-shrink, expandable or other sleeving as required
* Marks identifying data on completed harness
* Tests wiring continuity with continuity tester

Other duties may be assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.,

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; Ability to write simple correspondence; Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.



Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.



Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions; Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.



Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MAS / JobOps Time Tracker Manufacturing software.



Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current driver's license preferred.
