Job Description

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an immediate opening for a Training Development Specialist, at its Carlisle, PA location.  The Talent Development Architect’s primary function is to support the development and implementation of training programs at the company.

Some travel required (less than 25%)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify existing programs.
  • Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development across the company.
  • Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences and workshops.
  • Work with managers to identify training needs and development strategy based upon the goals of the organization.
  • Train instructors in the techniques and skills for conducting effective training programs.
  • Develop testing and evaluation for all programs.
  • Design orientation programs for new employees.
  • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, etc.
  • Develop alternative training methods if expected outcomes not met.
  • Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, or handouts.
  • Evaluate modes of training including delivery in-person or virtual to optimize training effectiveness, training costs, etc.
  • Succession Planning program development/maintenance
  • Select and assign instructors to conduct training
  • Supervise, evaluate or refer instructors to skill development classes.
  • Devise programs to develop executive potential among employees.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Training and Education, HR, Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum of four (4) years of direct experience developing, delivering and managing training programs across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience working for a manufacturer highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills along with experience presenting in front of large groups required
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and an innovative thinker
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
