Job Description


Test Engineer will work from drawings, written and oral instructions, or develop plans to execute prototype builds and product testing. Assignment is to provide direction for the successful completion of developing testing practices, and to ensure compliance to contractual test requirements through the development of processes, plans, procedures, automation, electrical & mechanical testing devices and fixtures. The ideal candidate would be a highly-skilled electrical engineer with excellent mechanical aptitude who is a pragmatic problem-solver & innovator who has a thorough understanding of the use of various tools and equipment for prototyping and testing. The candidate needs the ability to work with everything from raw drawings to detailed CAD models to fabricate close-tolerance parts, as well as jigs and fixtures


* Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, harnesses, instruments and mechanical assemblies
* Reads and understands technical drawings, procedures, and industry standards
* Performs test process verifications
* Writes test procedures and trains technicians on performing tests
* Provides leadership, training, and mentoring of test engineering technicians
* Participates in closed loop corrective action teams
* Performs failure and root cause analysis, implements corrective action, and verifies effectiveness of corrective action
* Operates programmable quality control equipment
* Assist in product design, development, and production
* Ensures proper test-related documentation is completed, verified and approved
* Prepare written reports and makes recommendations for procedural changes
* Ensures quality of all incoming & outgoing projects
* Develop new apparatus or fixture designing for testing in a manufacturing environment
* Perform test data analysis
* Utilizes knowledge of electrical (digital/analog), & RF theory for testing products
* 2d & 3d CAD designing for prototyping PCB boards, testing fixtures, custom electronics & custom mechanical devices
* Operate and Program a variety of computer, automated and manual test equipment
* Oversee several projects simultaneously and provide scheduling support to operations
* Automation programing for a variety of equipment
* Assist with pre-sales activities for test project proposal and services capabilities
* Streamline data gathering, storage and access to minimize effort required to generate required customer reports

* Advanced electrical (digital/analog) & RF theory knowledge

* Hands-on experience with operation and programming of bench RF/DC/AC test equipment such as Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Pulse Generators, Oscilloscopes Spectrum Analyzers, HI-Pot Testers & Cable Harness Testers
* Experience with developing production test systems and its subsequent commissioning/training

* Comprehensive knowledge of equipment utilized for testing
* Execution of tests in strict accordance with the quality system

* Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes and procedures

* Understanding of RF, Analogue, Digital Circuits in relation to test development; understanding of hardware test requirements for volume manufacturing

* Moderate 3d & 2d CAD designing skills
* Personal computer skills:

* Moderate to advanced skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
* Moderate skills using Microsoft Access and PowerPoint
* Advanced reading and mathematical skills
* Must have good communication skills, both written and oral
* Ability to work under pressure in meeting time schedules

* High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
* BS Engineering or equivalent experience

* 6+ years of experience electrical engineering or a closely related technical field with mechanical engineering experience
