Job Description

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an immediate opening for a Territory Sales Representative, based out of the Toronto, ON area to represent the Carlisle HVAC division.  This position would focus on achieving maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within the province of Ontario by effectively selling Carlisle HVAC products and/or related services to existing and new accounts.

Travel requirement: 25% overnight travel

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Promote/sell/secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
  • Promote products to the design community as well as end users in order to support customer sales
  • Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Demonstrate products and services to existing/potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
  • Coordinate sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
  • Create and manage a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment
  • Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in sales.  Experience within the construction or manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written, and the ability to make presentations in front of large groups
  • Must have the ability to travel to the United States.  Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Strong organizational skills and a self-motivator
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite programs is required
