Job Description

Manages the Contract Management function and team members reporting into the function. Acts as the primary point of contact for the Market Leaders, Product Management, and Sales Directors for contract negotiations for any large or multi-year agreements. Plans, organizes, and coordinates with the various stakeholders including Sales, Product Management, Finance, Customer Service, Purchasing, Operations and others as necessary to ensure agreements are properly understood, executed, and supported. Ensures long term agreements support the company's product strategies and overall company objectives. The successful applicant is expected to learn and understand the overall range of products within the company and the associated markets and applications to maximize his/her effectiveness.


* Leads the overall contract negotiation process for assigned market verticals.
* Directs the work of the contract management team members.
* Supports the contracting process by making recommendations to the Market Leads, Product Management, and Sales Directors in order to review, revise, and negotiate contracts.
* Ensures there is a corporate approach to contracting, but recognizes the different risk models and needs of the corporate Market Segments.
* Supports IT and Purchasing functions as needed.
* Develops and executes negotiation strategies that minimize potential losses and benefit the company's performance.
* Reports on a routine basis the status of pending negotiations to the executive staff of the company and solicits input from the same.
* Communicates necessary actions and information to the appropriate stakeholders in all parts of the organization.
* Ensures that the product line strategies and overall corporate goals are factored into the contracting process.
* Coordinates and participates in meetings (by phone and in presence) in order secure and close contracts.
* Helps the company identify, interpret and comply with applicable FAR and DFARS requirements, including without limitation, commercial item determinations and cost/price analysis techniques.
* Helps the company identify and assess contractual impacts to existing and future intellectual property rights of the company.
* Maintains and updates contract repository.
* Develops and maintains consistent contracting processes for all lines of business.
* Performs all other duties as required to meet the goals and objectives of the company.

Up to 30% travel for implementation projects and live negotiations as needed.

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or University and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Juris Doctor is preferred, but not required based on experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to understand basic finance and accounting principles.


* Must be experienced with PCs using Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel), Microsoft Project and ERP/MRP software system such as SAP.
* Must be self-motivated and aggressive in the pursuit of winning business while minimizing risk to achieve sales growth and must be able to function effectively in a very busy environment and willing to work hours (travel) that are outside the norm.
* Must have exceptional work ethic, and the ability to manage and maximize time and company resources.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
