Job Description


The SAP Solutions Architect will be accountable for the design, build and implementation of solutions in the SAP Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash and Plan to produce process areas.

* Design SAP functional landscape and solution, including the functional integration points, applicable standards and governance.
* Provide expertise on application architecture design or applications rationalization in the areas of SAP PP, SD, MM, QM and WM across all CIT locations.
* Own the SAP solution template and design for their functional area, and drive the SAP solution roadmap within the business.
* Lead the architectural governance function/processes during the implementation (ensure the ongoing alignment of business architecture, functional architecture and technical architecture from a functional/solution perspective).
* Translate business requirements into specific system, application or process designs covering both functional and non-functional aspects.
* Participate in multiple design activities, from requirements analysis to systems, application and/or process design specification.
* Independently lead or execute complex assignments and projects.
* Collaborate with the Super user teams, Technical and Infrastructure teams to ensure right solution is designed and deployed.
* Provide direction to the implementation teams during solution realization.
* When required, analyze changes necessary to the solution architecture triggered by changes in business requirements, processes or technical requirements, develop options to incorporate the changes and take/facilitate the appropriate decisions.
* Act as a center of expertise, staying abreast of developments in the SAP space and continually upgrading functional knowledge.
* Evaluates application system needs across multiple systems and develop corresponding application and logical data architectures and standards.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities at the moment but may potentially have some in the future.


Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Occasionally the job may require that time in the production areas, which require OSHA safety standards and PPE requirements.

TRAVEL Average 40 -- 60% travel for implementation projects.

* Minimum of eight (8) years of SAP or related experience in various Functional or Technical positions.
* Minimum of five (5) years of working in SAP PP, SD, MM and WM modules with atleast (1) one year of experience in PM and QM modules.
* Demonstrated experience with industry best practices and implementing these into SAP business processes.
* Experience in at least one end to end full life cycle SAP implementation projects.
* Working knowledge of other SAP functional areas in FI/CO, Variant Configuration,
* Experience with SAP Logistics Information Structure. (LIS)
* Demonstrated understanding and application of the functional and technical aspects of the analysis and design process and its associated documentation (ie. Functional/technical specifications, test plans)
* Ability to travel an average 40-50% during implementation.
* Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college in Supply Chain/IT or equivalent experience required.

Preference given for SAP, APICS, or other relevant certifications.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to understand Spanish or Mandarin a plus. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


* Clear understanding of Order to Cash, Plan to Produce and Procure to pay processes in SAP and integration to other functions.
* Project Management skills
* Process Improvement and the ability to understand business challenges and have the ability to translate into solutions
* Capability to quickly acquire in-depth understanding of processes and of integrated and ancillary systems such as ShipERP, EDI and MES.
* Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with business and IT globally
* Should have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Need to have strong documentation skills, ability to help train internal end-users in functionality
* Configuration of SAP SD, PP, MM, QM, IM and WM with integration to FICO and other systems.
* Understanding of SOX controls as applicable to software solutions and process controls.
