Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting the Quality Manager in administering the total quality assurance program; encompassing the planning, evaluation, inspection and reporting on all quality aspects of a product from its conception through manufacturing, fabrication, storage and delivery with intent to provide an optimum quality product at the lowest cost.



Specific Duties:


• Provides day-to-day direction and leadership to the inspectors and technicians in the department. Plans and delegates workload of hourly employees across shifts, and adjust assignments as necessary. Interprets and enforces Company policies and maintains employee records as required.




• Develops and maintains standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Manages gage room and the distribution of all measuring equipment as well as calibration requirements.




• Assists Quality Engineers in developing and maintaining IATF TS16949 and ISO9001 procedures, work instructions, control plans, logs, etc.




• Directs staff in measuring and testing product, and tabulating data concerning material, product, and/or process quality.




• Maintains the material review area to ensure that all products are dispositioned in a timely manner.




• Support Operations in all quality related issues including problem solving and resolution.




• Participates and supports the Company's COS and Six Sigma initiatives.




• Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

• Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed above.





Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma with 5-7 years of quality experience. Black Belt / Green Belt training and / or certification in Six Sigma principles is preferred. Bachelor's or Associates degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Business a plus. Work Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible work experience in quality control or engineering reliability for a manufacturing company. 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing quality area preferred
