Job Description



SUMMARY
Manage and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through continuous assurance and improvements in products and services by developing, documenting, and maintaining a comprehensive quality management system that meets or exceeds AS9100/ISO9001 requirements. This position oversees the study of process stability and capability as well as identifying improvements with respect to the operations performed and quality assurance of our suppliers.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Supports and coordinates a Closed-Loop Quality Management Systems that integrates all process modules and ensures completion.
* Continually develop and improve responses of CCAPA, ICAPA and SCAPA to achieve and maintain effective actions and timely response.
* Execute all aspects of Quality Management support to achieve and maintain a high level of quality performance
* Execute all aspects of Quality Management support to achieve and maintain a high level of on-time delivery support
* Supports all value streams with cross functional quality representation to ensure value stream customer needs are met.
* Participating in cross-functional MRB's and Root Cause Analyses for product and process-related failures. Lead MRB efforts; develop root causes and corrective actions.
* Continually develop and improve the customer/federal/regulatory audit support system to achieve and maintain a low level of audit findings
* Maximize quality personnel utilization through effective scheduling and process improvements to minimize overtime, while meeting all daily tasks and deadlines
* Promote process improvement, inspection accuracy, and corrective action effort to improve product conformance.
* Publishing Daily/Weekly/Monthly statistics summarizing key quality metrics and process capabilities. Collect and publish metrics; identify trends, identify areas where process capability is insufficient to meet customer requirements.
* Ensure employees have necessary training, tools, and support to be fully effective in their position
* Maintain an inspector certification system.
* Establish and maintain non-conforming material control.
* In conjunction with senior management, the COS manager and value stream managers, drive the company's continuous improvement initiatives.
* Conduct internal audits of management systems and assign corrective actions as necessary
* Develop an Annual Quality Improvement Plan.
* Establishing and providing training on SPC and Process Variability
* Daily management of various staff organizations
* Overseeing Supplier Quality Audits. Ensure a robust supplier selection and audit process.
* Ensure training and development of staff groups associated with the QMS
* Ensure concise, timely and accurate communication to other departments
* Ensure concise, timely and accurate responses to customer requests
*Other duties may be assigned as required*

Physical Demands:

* Combined sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day to accomplish tasks.
* Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
* Reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing, crouching or stooping on a frequent basis.
* Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
* Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
* Ability to use computer for extended periods of time.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The following supervisory responsibilities exist within this position:

* Hire employees
* Mentor and advise
* Recommend employee promotions
* Assign and evaluate work
* Terminate employees
* Review performance semi-annually
* Recommend pay levels and merit increase percentages

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses are required for the job when in the manufacturing areas. Safety toed shoes or boots (ASTM 2413-11 standard) are required in specific manufacturing areas.

TRAVEL
0-15% with overnight stay as required


QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field with 6+ years of experience, or 10+ years of relevant quality and manufacturing experience in a manufacturing environment performing quality work
* Master's degree in an engineering or related field, or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
* 5+ years of leadership experience preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
* Certified Internal Auditor preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Articulate with use of good grammar skills.
* A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
JOB SKILLS

* Experience within the Aerospace Industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred
* Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
* Strong technical skills including the ability to read and understand technical drawings
* Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and can use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & associated software efficiently
* Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross functional group of individuals
* Self-starter that can work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines
