PROCESS ENGINEER

Job Summary:

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer in its Carlisle, PA location. The Process Engineer will have the responsibility to develop, analyze, and implement new or modified process technology, products, equipment and systems for all plant manufacturing processes under the guidance of the Technical Services Manager.  This position will provide leadership in technical service and provide support to production personnel to effectively improve quality and productivity while reducing operating costs.

Primary Job Responsibilities: 

  • Use process data (defect, scrap, rework, equipment utilization, etc.) to identify process weaknesses and develop process methods, materials, training, and equipment modifications to obtain improvements.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing implementation initiatives by training and participating in events, as well as following up and assisting with the coaching of others.
  • Resolve problems relating to materials, methods, and equipment.  Develop and employ expertise in all areas of the plant.
  • Verify and maintain control of production processes and variability through the development, writing, issuing and revision of written process specifications.
  • Implement and train pertinent positions in the use of statistical process control methods to identify factors influencing process stability. 
  • Assume leadership and responsibility for various projects in the plant including but not limited to:  introduction of new technology and cost reduction; support and participation in the evaluation of R&D trials and experimentation for the development of new products, processes, and cost reduction; new product or process start-up, and the justification of new equipment or capital to improve processes.
  • Assist with maintenance/calibration of dimensional control systems, scrap/defect/rework tracking system and reports, and development/implementation of bar code system.  

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required
  • Candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience within a manufacturing/industrial environment, in a quality, R&D, or engineering capacity
  • Internship experience will be considered
  • Candidates with certification in Lean and Six Sigma are highly preferred
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
