Summary of: Process Engineer

The Process Engineer is primarily responsible to oversee the optimization and continual quality improvement of the Injection Molding processes and procedures across the organization. The ideal candidate must have a proven knowledge of injection molding processing, tooling, and machine operation.

Essential Duties:


• Responsible for developing and maintaining documentation library and integrity of injection molding standards.
• Responsible to complete the decoupled studies and/or Design of Experiments on current injection molding processes and develop standards and procedures for the process.
• Responsible for assisting the Technical Service Manager, Engineering, Maintenance and Injection Technicians in identifying root causes of process, machine, tooling and logistical deficiencies that will enable improved sustainable and repeatable processes.
• Responsible for providing cost analysis, establishing improvement strategies, quality improvement plan and associated metrics.
• Responsible for assisting product development group and engineers in defining quality problems associated with tooling, and developing improvement strategies to eliminate and /or reduce quality problems while eliminating defects, scrap and unscheduled downtime.
• Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.


• Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and Supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.



Education Required:


• Engineering degree preferred, Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent to injection molding preferred.




• Minimum of 2 years in a technical or process engineering role.

Job Requirements


• Self-starter, able to work with little direction and high level of self-motivation.
• Well organized project management skills, program management background a plus.
• Tooling knowledge is preferred.
• Systematic trouble shooting experience.
• Provide the appropriate mentorship to all levels of the manufacturing environment as it relates to Plastics Process, Tooling, Quality and Leadership

Travel Requirements:


• Up to 10% travel, in support of corporate initiatives
