SUMMARY



The Pricing Specialist (PS) will be responsible for managing quotes (RFQs) in conjunction with the Inside Sales team, Product Management and Engineering, as well as develop cost and pricing numbers for customer proposals and quotations. The PS will work with other departments as required to obtain cost and labor estimates which cannot be accurately determined within the estimating group. The PS will ensure compliance to the corporate Delegation of Authority and disbursement procedures.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Manage 'Bid process' for large RFQ's ensuring all relevant functions are included to prepare and submit a 1st time winning bid to customer.
* Analyze and interpret customers' technical data package and specification requirements against Carlisle IT capabilities to provide product information and recommendations. Support technical inquiries from the Customer throughout the Quotation Process utilizing support from other functions (product management, AE, sales, etc).
* Work with other CIT facilities to understand their capabilities and determine if a quote would be better served at another CIT facility.
* Determine sell prices, often in collaboration with Strategic Account Managers and Product Manufacturing, while considering cost, competition and sales history.
* Direct contact with the customer may occasionally be required
* Provide pricing intelligence on RFQ's to ensure a 'business winning price'.
* Takes proactive steps to manage RFQ's to ensure best solution is identified and pursued to ensure maximum probability of bid success.
* Assemble cost data and generate quotations and proposals for customers
* Monitor open quote report and ensure that quotes are being submitted on time to customers.
* Coordinate opportunities in Microsoft Dynamics, working with Sales Team to ensure accurate pipeline and milestone reporting.
* Monitor proposal effort, assembling meetings as required, to ensure adequate progress on large proposal efforts so that CIT is in a position to timely submit the proposal to the customer
* Analyze historical cost and pricing data.
* Provide back-up for Inside Sales Coordinators when required due to illness or vacation.
* Suggest improvements to the CIT quoting system in order to make our systems more efficient and effective.
* Complete monthly price testing per corporate requirements
* Complete price list uploads as needed
* Manage contract pricing details (e.g. gold adjustments, etc.)
* Review and analyze negative margin report
* Own and manage the weekly and monthly reporting on quote capture rate metrics. Perform root cause and corrective action analyses as needed.
* Conducts weekly quote review meetings with Inside Sales Coordinators
* Maintains up to date knowledge of the industry and competitors
* Strives to achieve quote capture, quote turnaround as well as any other assigned metrics
* Contributes to the company achieving its profitability metrics by adhering to the corporate margin policy
* Update work instructions and processes as needed
* Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor degree in business, engineering or a related field and 2-5 years of experience in the mil-aero electrical/electronics field, including providing quotation and some customer relationship experience.
