Summary of: Supply Chain/COS Manager

The Supply Chain Manager will bring leadership skills to the team by driving outstanding performance in the areas of purchasing, inventory management, financial performance and process improvement (COS). Maintain proper levels of inventory to support the rapid growth of sales and the aggressive product launch strategy while achieving financial goals. Drive goal achievement through leadership, managing proper purchasing and planning processes, and development of inter-department communications. Support the development and execution of a supplier management program, resulting in cost effective, high quality, and timely products/services from our supplier base. Implement defined strategies to achieve cost reduction targets for assigned product lines and commodities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Leads the supply chain efforts for the Sparta Manufacturing Facility through supply planning, procurement and financial reconciliation of inventory plans.
• Works with our internal and external partners to identify and resolve issues and ensure supply chain effectiveness.
• Develops and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliers and service providers and other partners adhering to negotiated contracts and prices where required.
• Establishes and maintains metrics for departmental including forecast and delivery accuracy, inventory and supplier performance and other data leading to identification and implementation of improvements
• Establishes short/long range departmental staffing requirements, required skill sets and team development plans. Attract and retain top supply chain talent and maintain a high level of engagement with company colleagues.
• Supports new product development and product renewal by ensuring upstream planning and procurement of components and other materials, establish launch/distribution plans with Sales & Marketing, and R&D.
• Maintains and updates, as appropriate, SOPs for purchasing, planning, shipping, receiving, material handling and other materials and logistics processes directly or through team.





Education


• BA in Business or BS in Engineering or related field is required, MS or MBA preferred
• Lean/Sigma, COS and Team Facilitation certifications preferred
• APICS, ASM or other industry/supply chain certification preferred



Experience & Capabilities


• 10+ years of experience in supply chain management of Operations, Planning, Purchasing or Materials Management and/or Distribution function, with at least 3 years in management or supervisory capacity
• Proven ability to build departments and develop and mentor individual contributors and teams
• Proven experience in successful supplier negotiation and contract development
• Visionary with the objective of balancing tactical and strategic issues
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong business relationships internally & externally
• Proven ability to adapt, manage and implement change in a fast-paced work environment
• Superior communication, presentation, financial/P&L and problem-solving/analytical skills
• Knowledge and involvement in developing and implementing overall value stream process to establish reliable and transparent processes and procedures for Materials management.
• Experience with common industry supply chain technology/processes
• Ability to travel up to 10%
