Job Description

-The Maintenance Technician provides production machinery set up and adjustment, and supports the manufacturing effort in performing assigned duties. -Facilitates the set up and/or changeover of production machinery and equipment by exchanging clamping fixtures, stamping dies, pattern programs, and raw materials as required by the customer order, and ensures proper machinery performance.-Performs additional machinery and equipment adjustments and/or repairs as required to maintain product quality standards.-Cleans and lubricates machinery parts, such as shafts, pulleys, gears, slides, and bearings, and performs routine preventive maintenance.-Diagnoses machinery and equipment malfunctions affecting mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems using appropriate testing equipment and procedures.-Visually inspects and precisely measures parts to detect wear, misalignment and/or other problems, using micrometers, dial and digital calipers and dial indicators.-Dismantles machinery and equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, adjusts machinery mechanisms, and tests for correct machinery function.

Associate's degree (A. A.) in Applied Science, majoring in Mechanical-electrical Technology or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
