Job Description

* A CNC machinist II, will be responsible for basic programming and work holding solutions (i.e., 3-axis machining centers), set up and operation of a variety of manufacturing tools (i.e., vertical machining centers, 5-axis machining centers, and swiss lathes), to produce precise, metallic and non-metallic parts and components. Responsible for meeting daily production goals (i.e., set up and cycle time), performing first piece and in process quality checks, monitoring machine feeds and speeds, and identifying production issues and reporting them to lead/supervisor.


* Intermediate interpretation of blueprints, GD & T, sketches, specifications, standard work, manuals, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
* Advanced proficiency at using measuring tools (i.e., micrometers, dial calipers, height gages, depth gages, bore micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) to indicate parts and verify dimensions of finished work piece.
* General proficiency in programming, set up, and operation of machines. (i.e., sequence of operations, identify proper tooling, set up, fixture design/selection, determine/adjust tool paths accordingly, and ensure finished product meets all drawing specifications.
* Safely and effectively performs efficient operation of multiple machines as cycle time allows.
* Suggests, identifies, selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
* Verifies conformance of finished work piece to engineering and manufacturing specifications.
* Removes burrs, sharp edges and cleans parts, as required.
* Verifies machine programs, set up sheets, tooling sheets, and supporting documentation match work order and drawing requirements.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area (i.e., compliant with 5's standards per COS requirements), update pacing boards, hourly status boards, and maintenance plans per established procedures.

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Technical degree or certification courses are preferred
* Intermediate math knowledge
* Advanced proficiency with gaging and inspection tools
* Minimum of 2-5years experience in CNC machining or equivalent
* Must have a working comprehension of the English language complimented with workplace levels of grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills 


* This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

* Protective clothing or equipment may be required, and include steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, cut resistant gloves and eye protection.
* Intermittent travel may be required to support production and Carlisle IT business objectives
* Writing skills required to complete documents and forms
* Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
* Ability to adapt to schedule changes with a positive attitude. Ability and willingness to work overtime when requested or required. Some positions require 10 or 12 hour schedules as an essential duty.
* Other conditions include frequent standing, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, crouching or stooping.
