SUMMARY

The Lean and Continuous Improvement Lead (internally known as the COS Lead) position serves as the point person in each factory for all activities related to implementation and maintenance of the Carlisle Operating System. Under the direction of the Director of Operations, this position is responsible for executing and facilitating operational improvement programs in order to create a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing to eliminate waste, empower associates, and improve the Key Performance Indicators.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Responsible for planning, scheduling, note-taking and follow-up for all internal monthly reviews (Productivity, Metrics, Strategy Deployment, etc.) related to COS
* Scheduling of consultants for internal events such as Kaizens, Six Sigma training, etc. with approval of COS & Compliance Manager
* Maintenance of Factory Metrics
* Maintenance of Factory Strategy Deployment process and TTIs when applicable
* Experience in factory productivity process and monthly reporting
* Scheduling and/or facilitation of improvement events such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma events, etc.
* Reporting on monthly COS events for inclusion updates to Executive leadership
* Scheduling of follow-ups to all major continuous improvement events to ensure that all improvements have been sustained
* Work with the factory management team to identify and lead continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive operational excellence and improve profitability
* Ensure that teams have the needed resources, access to sponsors and help from outside the team
* Participate in lean manufacturing networks, training with other COS leads within CIT and throughout Carlisle.
* Physical Demands:

o While performing duties of this position, the employee is required to stand and walk constantly, with repeated bending, stooping, reaching.

o Work environment requires constant alertness and coordination.

o May frequently be required to lift up to 25 lbs.

o May occasionally be required to lift or moving of items in excess 40 lbs.

o May occasionally be required to work irregular and/or extended hours.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Operations, Industrial Engineering, or other related fields
* A background in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is fundamental.
* 2-3 years of experience in a Company where the Lean Manufacturing is a part of the Organization Culture.
* Must have strong dissatisfaction for status quo with an internal desire and drive to continually make things better.
* Demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently
* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily



LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
