SUMMARY
Performs Human Resources activities in support of the Site, as well as deploys solutions for implementation within the site. The Human Resources Generalist effectively executes the responsibilities in the functional areas of the following: employee relations, HR data analysis, talent development, benefits, compliance, performance management, organizational development, recruitment, compensation, administration of HR policies/procedures/programs, new hire integration and special projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Conducts onboarding and assimilation for site employees.
* Manages employee staffing/selection including: requisition preparation, metrics such as turnover, proposes and implements solutions to talent opportunities, participates in external recruitment activities/job fairs, proposes market based total compensation aligned with CIT philosophy, trains assigned clients on selection practices. May coordinate interviews with the supervisors/managers of the respective departments. May assist Division Recruiter in engagement with and use of external employee agencies.
* Conducts exit interviews and makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
* Administers state and federal legal regulations, company policies and procedures, benefits, timekeeping, ADP-Vantage, eTime payroll, Performance and Learning Management system.
* Represents/Responds to and follow up on unemployment claims to outside agencies.
* Answers routine inquiries on paychecks, benefit questions and other payroll related matters.
* Maintains Human Resources records on payroll and timekeeping databases and maintains electronic copy of personnel records, benefit files, medical records, and termination files.
* Designs and writes reports to meet management requests and needs for payroll and HR related information using the ADP-Vantage database.
* Performs duties related to the benefits program to include benefits communication, leave procedures, open enrollment, etc.
* Assists in administration of the compensation program to include salary surveys and analysis, statistics, compliance with labor hours, benefits, insurance, sick leave and attendance policies.
* Acts as an employee advocate while best representing CIT.
* Acts as a coach to peers, leaders and employees when appropriate.
* Performs training for all HR systems and tools for new HR team members and new site acquisitions.
* Advise management on complex employee relations issues.
* Conducts thorough and complete investigations, including documentation and recommendations.
* Thoroughly and objectively investigates employee relations issues and complaints and makes recommendations for appropriate action in support of/directed by the Director of Human Resources.
* Primary contact for all Vantage and eTime related items for the Site employees.
* May be assigned the administration of local employee programs, benefits and patriation.
* Performs compensation analysis and position classifications.
* Conducts market studies, benchmarking, and internal equality analysis of positions, performs data analysis and formulates compensation recommendations.
* Classifies positions for FLSA/EEO/WC status and salary ranges based on regulations.
* Investigates complaints regarding pay, responds to inquiries, and makes determination and recommendation for corrections, actions, or communications based upon findings.
* Provides guidance and interpretation of compensation policies and programs.
* Oversees and submits company response to a variety of local salary surveys.
* Responsible for HR reporting and analytics.
* Maintain and update monthly Site HR metrics for Division.
* Generate regular and ad hoc reports related to employment data.

This job may have supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
This is an air-conditioned facility with many pieces of equipment that produce heat. The following are potential items that may be encountered in home site or in domestic factories during visits: fumes, dust, noise, hazardous/toxic chemicals. Appropriate training is provided and documented based on job placement that complies with OSHA and EPA regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Minimum BA degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
* Minimum 3-5 years HR Generalist experience in Manufacturing environment.
* Thorough knowledge of labor and employment law, worker's compensation and statutes.
* Strong working knowledge of Salary Structures and Compensation Analysis is required.
* Experience utilizing ADP Vantage HRIS.
* Strong personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Strong analytical and data analytics experience.
* Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
* Wage and hour and employment laws and regulations.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with experience in pivot tables, developing complex formula, automating reports, and data manipulation.

CERTIFICATIONS
PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

* Ability to interpret and make pay grade recommendations based on compensation survey data.
* Strong report building and Excel skillset required.
* Must understand and can interrupt State laws, as well as Federal laws and statues.
* Ability to take on additional projects on a regular basis.
