Job Description

Responsibility:



Individual is responsible for the development and implementation of the Carlisle Operating System

throughout the CBF organization. This position will be responsible for leading the re-engineering of

our current manufacturing, business and supply chain processes following lean methodologies.

Individual is also responsible for the design and implementation of COS within the company in

order to achieve significant and sustained results to bottom-line profitability. This includes

enhancing our culture through the implementation of JIT (Just in Time), VSM (Value Stream

Mapping), Kaizen (Continuous Improvement), SMED (Setup reduction), TPM (Total Productive

Maintenance, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), SODP (Sales and Operations Demand

Planning) and other tools at the direction of the CBF VP/GM.



Specific Duties:




• Work with the management team to identify and lead continuous improvement projects utilizing lean and six sigma principles that drive operational excellence and improved profitability.




• Conduct assessments of business and manufacturing operations to provide focused improvement opportunities to increase production efficiencies, eliminate waste, reduce inventory, reduce lead times, increase quality and improve customer satisfaction.




• Through execution of lean initiatives drive performance excellence and embrace the role of a change agent for the company.




• Interact with all levels of the organization and all facilities to understand the operational and business issues.




• Provide leadership to site-based COS Managers to accelerate the deployment and integrate the methodologies into CBF's culture.




• Lead cross-functional teams using company endorsed project management techniques along with lean principles to implement continuous flow manufacturing and pull systems, 5S improvement, standard work, set-up reduction, and problem solving/rapid change Kaizen activities.




• Utilize value stream mapping to identify and eliminate waste as well as evaluate potential changes in work flow to maximize process efficiencies.




• Utilize effective training techniques and appropriate learning styles to ensure all personnel from the shop floor to senior management have the requisite knowledge and skill to deploy Lean methodologies on an ongoing basis.




• Coach Project Champions and senior management in the application of lean, six sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies as appropriate to ensure teams are successful in meeting project goals.




• Promote, educate and instill a culture of waste identification and elimination throughout the manufacturing organization by utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts and the principles of Kaizen (continuous improvement).




• Through continuous improvement, influence behaviors and culture through introduction and development of information boards, visual indicators, hour-by-hour tracking, suggestion systems, or other appropriate tools or techniques.




• Deploy CBF's Lean toolkit that includes 5S, Kaizen, quick change over, value stream mapping, mistake proofing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Standard work, Pull and flow techniques, Kanban and line balancing.




• Travel requirements: 50% of the time.













Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting or Operations Management is required. MBA degree is preferred.

Individual is required to have 5-10 years of experience in a Lean Manufacturing implementation or Plant Management type of role.

Strong knowledge of lean techniques, six-sigma and change management is preferred.

Individual must also have demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement processes in a manufacturing environment.
