Carlisle Interconnect Technologies - Pottstown has a great opportunity for an Engineering Technician on 2nd shift to perform engineering activities necessary to support, monitor, troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes and products. The Engineering Technician will provide technical support for the manufacturing area in which they are assigned.

The products offered by CIT today serve more applications than ever before. Our products can be found in systems ranging from military communications, radar, missile guidance and satellites, aviation, mobile devices, cellular transmitters and receivers, and a wide range of test equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Provide technical support and oversight to production in order to meet quality, cost, and on-time delivery goals.
* Resolve production issues using root cause analysis and establishing corrective actions.
* Builds, tests and evaluates engineering samples and prototypes.
* Utilizes lean manufacturing tools to improve quality and reduce waste (Standard work, 5S, Flow, Kanban systems etc.)
* Participate in continuous improvement activities related to production processes.
* Participate in sustaining engineering activities (process and router updates).
* Oversee R&D production runs to validate new manufacturing processes.
* May perform technical training for specific tasks and require associated certifications (ex. J-STD-001 etc.)
* Develops/maintains/updates Work instructions and other related documentation.
* Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work in a factory environment to include walking the factory floor and other related activated as well as working in an administrative environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Experience

o Level 1: 1-2 years of experience with the manufacturing and/or testing of microwave cables or related products/processes. Alternatively, Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology, or similar discipline, and less than 1-2 years of experience.

Level 2: Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology, similar discipline, or high school diploma with equivalent experience. Demonstrated strong mechanical, technical, and analytical capabilities. Typical minimum 3 years of experience with manufacturing and/or testing of microwave cable or related products/processes. Demonstrated thorough understanding of cable manufacturing processes and testing methods. Demonstrated success in supporting production needs and training of operators.

o Level 3: Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology, similar discipline, or high school diploma with equivalent experience. Demonstrated advanced mechanical, technical, and analytical capabilities. Demonstrated expertise and understanding of cable manufacturing and testing methods. Skill level is at an advanced to subject matter expert level. Typical minimum of 5 years of experience with the manufacturing and/or testing of microwave cable or related products/processes.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

JOB SKILLS
* Manufacturing experience in a custom make to order environment
* Excellent problem-solving skills -- able to identify and analyze data and resolve problems in a timely manner. Develops alternative solutions to problems and corrective actions.
* Experience with Lean/Six Sigma Tools.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills -- able to explain complex operations and methods clearly and concisely. Technical writing experience preferred.
* Able to participate in and advise cross functional project teams
* Formal Problem Solving Training (RCA, PDCA, 8D, etc.) preferred.
* Experience with ERP system preferred.
* Co-operates with others and treats all with respect.
* Accepts responsibility for own actions. Willingly accepts feedback from others.
