Job Description

The emphasis of this position is the design, development, and product launch of new brake products and systems that offer solutions to CBF's global off-highway customers. As an integral part of an experienced team, this role serves as the technical lead for designated products throughout the new product development process. One must foster strong design and creativity skills to develop solutions that meet and exceed internal, customer, and end user goals.



Specific Duties:


• Design and develop new brake, brake actuation, and system products as part of a new product development team.
• Work closely with a cross functional team including engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality to ensure quality, manufacturability, and cost targets are achieved.
• Maintain documentation associated with projects including engineering change notices, detailed engineering calculations, CAD models and associated component drawings, design calculations, and supplier correspondence files.
• Lead design reviews and collaborative development sessions.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis of components and assemblies using PTC Simulate.
• Select materials and specifications which will meet durability and cost requirements.
• Design fixtures for testing the durability and performance of brake products.
• Develop test specifications and write test requests to ensure designs meet customer expectations in terms of performance and durability.
• Hands-on support for prototype development, validation, and installations of strategic customer product launches.
• Lead and foster product excellence and continuous improvement.



Minimum of a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.



2+ years product development experience -- familiarity with construction / mining / agriculture equipment a plus.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Experience with FMEA, GD&T, FEA

Experience with cast and precision machined components

Experience with hydraulic components and systems a plus

3D CAD modeling experience -- PTC Creo a plus

Must be a proficient multi-tasker

Strong communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced team supporting customer solutions
