Job Description


Individual will be the primary resource to implement the Carlisle Operating System (COS). This person will lead the organizational transformation by teaching, coaching and mentoring the principles of lean systems thinking.



Identify, prioritize and lead continuous improvement activities to achieve operational excellence and improve plant Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Organize and facilitate the plant COS Steering Committee with the management team.
Teach COS concepts and rationale.
Train tactical execution of COS tools and initiatives.
Promote and support a culture of waste identification and elimination throughout the manufacturing and administrative operations.
Influence behaviors and culture through information boards, visual indicators, hour-by-hour tracking, SQDC boards and other COS tools.
Utilize Kaizen charter planning process to ensure successful events and verify results are sustained.
Facilitate Kaizen events to follow the event charter, achieve the objectives and develop other people's facilitation skills.
Ensure teams and individuals are properly recognized for participation and results.
Responsible for required COS reporting for the plant.
Summarize and communicate results to all employees on a frequent basis.
Collaborate with other facilities within the Carlisle Brake & Friction division and other Carlisle Companies.
Seek professional development and education through lean systems thinking networks and outside training.



3-5 Years of Experience

Bias toward action: Demonstrated ability to get individuals and teams to take action without direct authority.
Experience in successful continuous improvement activities in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in a management or supervisory role.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio required.



Candidate must be a self-starter with a strong sense of urgency. Candidate must embrace the role of a change agent for the company. Excellent communication and facilitation skills are required. Must have the ability to problem solve and possess strong analytical abilities. Must be comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Attention to detail and the ability to follow up to stated deadlines are critical. Flexible work hours along with some travel is required. Must be able to work independently and in a cross-functional work team environment. Must have the ability to deliver results in an uncertain environment with several competing projects.
Bachelor's Degree required..
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
