Job Description

SUMMARY

The Lean Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the current and future state lean implementation plan that aligns with the organizations vision to support positive change throughout all facilities. This position is responsible for developing an effective COS program that provides tools, techniques and resources to support the organization's efforts to significantly improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, while overseeing the professional development of continuous improvement team members and refine the capability building process as needed to provide distinctive continuous improvement expertise that fully supports the organization's improvement efforts.

For Safety, manages, participates and develops the training of employees on safety policies, procedures, regulations for all employees. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Manages identifying of hazardous workplace conditions. Oversees the collection of samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and the coordination of the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities under COS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


• Facilitate, lead, and assist in Kaizen events.
• Responsible for the implementation and training of the Carlisle Operating System, while working side by side with all levels of manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, logistics, and other office and administrative team members.
• Responsible for proactively implementing positive change on the shop floor and office environments through leading by example and implementing results.
• Responsible for the pre-event preparation, Kaizen event execution, post event follow up and Kaizen event sustainment with the plant management.
• Responsible for implementing the businesses plan and vision for future state improvements. Responsible for managing projects independently through to completion.



Essential duties and responsibilities under Safety include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


• Responsible for maintaining policies and programs consistent with OSHA, EPA, and company regulations for issues and complieance
• Responsible for OSHA compliance, inspections and reporting, accident reporting, accident investigation, facility inspections, and housekeeping issues including record keeping and reporting.
• Responsible for training supervisors, current employees, and new hires on all relevant safety and security issues.
• Responsible for administration of random drug testing and reasonable suspicion drug-testing program.
• Responsible for assisting in the administration and cost/risk management of workers' compensation programs including, but not limited to, return to work, light duty/modified duty, incentive and suggestion programs, coordination of litigated claims, risk and loss analysis, and the coordination of the safety committee.
• Responsible for administration of the internal safety and security programs.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five years related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bi-lingual, English & Spanish preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
