Job Description

Work in a technical role in support of the Manufacturing Engineering Department and Plant Operations. Assist with design,development, testing, and evaluation of tools and methods for managing Facility production processes, including human work factors, quality control and ISO requirements, cost analysis and project coordination.

Essential Functions:

• Support Manufacturing Engineers as directed in daily production, projects and special assignments.
• Specific emphasis on CNC programming of precision metal cutting machines of all types is critical to this role.
• Assist with planning and establishing sequences of operations to machine, fabricate and assemble parts or product for efficient utilization of Company resources in the manufacturing operations. Routing jobs and new product launches. Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to determine manufacturing methods, procedures and activities.
• Assist Engineering with training operators on new equipment and processes.
• Asist with estimating production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control.
• Assist Engineers with drafting and designing layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools, computer programs, etc.
• Coordinate and implement quality objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or to minimize costs.
• Design tools, gauges, and fixtures for production.
• Assist engineers with requisitioning tooling, repair parts, and supplies.
• Assist with writing, installing/programming CNC equipment and validating first piece inspection.
• Perform other related responsibilities as needed and assigned.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Education: Associate Degree in industrial/manufacturing engineering or related field or equivalent experience/education.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years manufacturing and/or equivalent combination of education and experience so as to possess knowledge of:

• Demonstrated command of CNC precision metal cutting knowledge of set-up, operation, trouble-shooting and adjustment.
• Operating knowledge of the application of engineering technology; including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products.
• Operating knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing efficiencies.
• Good understanding of Arithmetic, algebra, and geometry required for programming.
• Machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Design techniques, tools, and principles in production of products' precision plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
