Job Description

Purpose: Perform duties to complete electrical/electronic and/or mechanical/pneumatic complex and precision assemblies and test completed products. Able read all types of prints with minimal assistance. Master a minimum of two current "80" production cells and being able to work in any "20" production cell.

Primary Responsibilities

• Retrieve parts, components and products from bins to prepare for assembly and for testing.
• Perform a preliminary visual, quality inspection of items to detect obvious defects.
• Build, pot and solder circuit boards.
• Cut, Form and connect wiring in accordance with engineering instructions.
• Monitor calibrations on test equipment and tooling in accordance with engineering procedures.
• Fit and align parts and mechanisms to required tolerances and operation requirements.
• Conduct tests on products to ensure they meet specifications
• Inspect assemblies using proper measuring devices.
• Maintain adequate parts inventory levels within the work cell and reorder as needed.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the company's ISO quality standards to be in compliance with ISO Registration.
• Train less experiences personnel, as required.
• Suggest ways to improve product/process.
• Monitor Kanban boards to ensure product is meeting delivery dates.
• Communication information regarding product or part issues.
• Perform other related responsibilities as needed and assigned.


• High School diploma or GED and one to three years of mechanical/pneumatic assembly experience.
• Must be able to read and understand all types of prints with minimal assistance, without the need for notes, beyond the MIP's. MIP's must match the prints, but are for reference only. Production floor blueprints supersede MIP's.
• Must have the ability to use various gauges and measuring devices to test equipment and identify non-conforming parts, as well as the ability to use screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering tools, hand carts and material handling equipment.
• Must have the ability to use hand and power tools to accomplish required assemblies.
• Must have a good understanding of "Kanban" procedures. Including identification of color coded Kanban cards but not limited to the procedures on the "floor order" parts. Must practice good housekeeping and keep cells organized and stocked as required per Kanban grades.
• Ability to multi-task, with organizational skill in multiple areas simultaneously.
• Ability to spatially visualize how parts, components and sub-assemblies come together resulting in the quality assemble.
