Job Description



The Accounting Clerk I will generate and distribute a variety of financial reports. The Accounting Clerk I will actively participate in the month end close process to ensure timely preparation of financial statements as well as ensure the accuracy of them. The ideal candidate will be a "go-getter" who can take minimal direction to get the task at hand completed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational reports.
• Perform essential product costing functions including: cost rollups, the review and correction of product cost discrepancies, review and correction of costing relevant master data and generally improve product costing processes and accuracy.
• Liaison with centralized accounts payable to identify and reconcile vendor account discrepancies.
• Liaison with centralized accounts receivable to identify and reconcile customer account discrepancies.
• Assist Accounting Supervisor and Plant Controller in the month end close process including; posting recurring journal entries, posting accruals/deferrals, analyzing and reporting on inventory levels, calculating and posting fixed asset depreciation, posting intercompany journal entries and other duties as assigned.
• Liaison with other departments to audit and ensure validity and accuracy of financial postings.
• Identify and propose opportunities and process improvements.
• Executes monthly SAP allocation cycles including distributions and assessments. Completes maintenance of allocation logic and rules as necessary.
• Supports COS Manager in accurately and timely calculating and reporting productivity savings projects.
• Complete monthly inventory forecast for consolidation into monthly financial forecast.
• Complete monthly cost of materials forecast for consolidation into monthly financial forecast.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

• Must have a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting/finance or similar
• 2-4 years accounting experience highly preferred
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP system required
• Knowledge of cost impacting ERP master data
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and Word required
• Must possess working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Proficiency in oral and written business communication skills required
• Must have a "go-getter" attitude
• Manufacturing experience highly preferred
• Must have the ability to analyze financial transactions and make independent decisions
